About Us

Charlton Fine Arts in Dover is a social and cultural project, an offshoot of Charlton Church. Each year we create a series of excellent classical concerts, making use of James Brooks's magnificent Grade II* building with its remarkable acoustic. Our aims: to enhance life in Dover by bringing affordable, high-quality, live classical music to the town; to create memorable musical and educational experiences for residents of Dover and beyond; to combat loneliness and inequality; to help raise the profile of Dover.

To fund the concerts and keep the series financially viable for Charlton Church, we approach local firms for sponsorship. This support enables us to keep the ticket price lower than they are for most  comparable concerts in this part of Kent.

At least seven concerts take place between September and June.

Hospitality is central to Charlton Fine Arts; drinks and refreshments are served before and after performances. The Red Lion pub on Charlton Green offers ticket-holders discounted roast lunches on concert days.

The Champions of Charlton Fine Arts are individuals who pay a small annual subscription in exchange for a reduced admission price, giving vital support to the concert series.
